Always Waiting For The Doorbell To Ring

This guy, an Air Force vet working at Edwards AFB, met up with friends at a bar in Hermosa Beach to watch a UFC fight one Saturday evening five years ago. He went off to find a restroom and buy something at a liquor store, and that's where the trail ends; he disappeared that night and hasn't been seen since. No trace. His car was parked where he left it. He's seen in surveillance video walking off through a parking lot and... nothing. There was even a show on the ID Channel about him; no leads, nothing. What's sad is how even his kid says that they've gotten "used to it." Maybe that's because there hasn't been a formal declaration of death (although that's coming). There's no closure, which means a tiny bit of hope, an expectation that he'll show up one day. But it's also amazing that in 2021, with cameras everywhere, someone could disappear without a trace and the trail just, you know, ends there in the parking lot of a beach bar.
