If You Don't Do Them, Maybe They'll Just Go Away

Not long ago, we had an article making the wise suggestion that you do little tasks right away, because that lets you check off things on the to-do list faster and makes you feel more accomplished and gives you momentum and WHY DON'T YOU DO THAT? That's the question raised by this BBC article on why we procrastinate over little things until they blow up into big irritants. And, yes, the solution is to do those short tasks -- it's called the two-minute rule, doing things that take less than two minutes right away -- and it still doesn't explain why you're so hesitant in the first place. Just go do things already. (BBC)
