Helmets Are A Start, But They're Not Enough

This brief, sad item about a motorcyclist who died after driving over a fire hose stretched across a road in the middle of the night while firefighters fought a blaze is a reminder to me of certain things I don't do for fear that something like this can happen. I won't ride a motorcycle or even a bicycle because I can only imagine hitting something in the road -- a pothole, a stick, a rock, a squirrel -- and going head first over the handlebars.
