What Hath 'Unsolved Mysteries' Wrought?

A TV critic laments the overuse of re-enactments in true crime documentaries. She thinks that those fake scenes depicting stuff for which there are no pictures is cornball, cheesy, stupid. She's right, and there ARE ways to do it without fakery (animation, for example, although I really didn't like that in the Action Park documentary). Do those scenes bother you like they bother her?
