Everything You Know Is Wrong: A new study on mice suggests that you shouldn't put ice on a muscle strain or tear or any other sports-like injury. It doesn't help, the study asserts, and may hurt. It can delay the muscles repairing themselves. You should, the doctors claim, just leave the ice out of it and rest, and the muscles will take care of the rest. Good to know after only a lifetime of being told exactly the opposite. (New York Times)
