'Swimming With Sharks' Turned Out To Be A Documentary

Sometimes, you get an advance warning: Entry level jobs in your chosen field are grueling, with long hours, low pay, and no life outside work. You're expected to devote yourself to the job 24/7 if you want to get anywhere in the business. Law's like that, and Hollywood, and high finance. Question is, is the ultimate reward worth it? How long can you keep it up, and is having a career doing that worth what you gave up to get there? It's one reason I didn't stick with law after law school, and why I blew off Hollywood possibilities to be more Hollywood-adjacent: I wanted a happy life, and I wasn't willing to give that up for the "prestige" of those jobs.
