Everything You Know Is Wr... well, let's just say questionable in the case of processed foods. We're consistently told that we should eat little or no processed foods, that all-natural and organic is better for our health. But that's not precisely true. In fact, several foods benefit from processing, from dairy (pasteurization) to canned tomatoes (harvested when riper, processing preserves more nutrients). HIGHLY processed food is bad for you -- especially with salt and preservatives abundant -- but it's not automatic that processing is bad. So, ease up but no need to go overboard. (BBC)
