The FDA is, under pressure from, I kid you not, the Association of Dressings and Sauces, rescinding the definition of French dressing that has been in place for 72 years. No more does French dressing need to be at last 35% vegetable oil. What a relief. I used to like French dressing on salads when I was a kid, but I haven't had it in years and I don't think I've even seen it on a menu in decades. Also, did you know mayonnaise has to be at least 65% vegetable oil by weight? The things you learn here... .(Washington Post)
