Old And In The Way
-
These articles are getting depressing: This one's about the people who will never find another decent job because their skills and experience no longer matter. And companies are taking the opportunity afforded by the recession to cut jobs and leave them cut. The main person in the article is an administrative whiz who can run an office and type and keep a business running like a well-oiled machine, but companies don't want that anymore; they want people to do their own office management, even if it's inefficient. That's cheaper. And she's a cashier at Wal-Mart, out of money, and in debt from training as a medical assistant which led to no jobs. And the administration doesn't think that this is a problem worth addressing.
