Although We Don't Expect Any Politicians To Tell The Truth, Do We?

Mark Kirk, the Republican candidate for the Senate seat for Illinois once held by President Obama, said he won the U.S. Navy's Intelligence Officer of the Year award. He didn't. So WHY DID HE SAY HE DID IN THE FIRST PLACE? He claims it was a mere misstatement in his bio, that he intended to say that his unit won the award, not himself, but he'd given the "inaccurate" account himself before. See, maybe it's just me, but if you stretch the truth about something like that, it should disqualify you from elected office. Kirk's opponent has his own problems, with the family banking business getting seized by the feds. Illinois, you have some kind of track record picking candidates.
