And They'll Still Be In Last Place Regardless
-
They knew they were in for a rebuilding project, and the Baltimore Orioles figured Dave Trembley was the guy to manage the team as it developed. But 54 games into his third season, and at a MLB-worst 15-39, Trembley's been fired and Juan Samuel is the new interim manager. You'll recall that when they elevated Trembley from interim to permanent manager in 2007, they went out and lost 30-3 the next day. Last year, when they announced that they'd exercised his option to keep him around for this year, they got beat 11-2 and gave up 8 runs in th eighth inning. By that standard, they should go on a winning streak now that he's gone.
