Nobody Gives ME Anything On My Own Recognizance

Wait. When I check into a hotel, they ask for my credit card to cover incidentals. This guy checked into a luxury hotel in Louisville and ran up a $7,400 bill, told them Churchill Downs would pay for it, then skipped out on the bill. HE's in jail now, but how did he check in without having to put it on a card? I also wonder about people who you read about who check in under false names; Hotels always want my ID when I check in, no aliases. Maybe I just look untrustworthy. (WLKY-TV/Louisville)
