Letting people rent movies for a dollar at Redbox on the day of DVD release kills sales of the movie, right? At least, that's what all the studios have been insisting, which is why they've all gotten those 30-day-delay deals with the movie rental kiosk. But Paramount says that's BS, and they've signed an extension deal letting the kiosks have all their movies the day they're released, because the cheap rentals seem to actually help sales. Look, a buck rental is better than someone BitTorrenting it, right? (Los Angeles Times)
