Least Worst Wins

U.S. Open winner: Graeme NcDowell. Oh, you SO did NOT predict it. A 3-over 74 final round won it, which is pretty pathetic, although most of us would be in triple digits at Pebble Beach. First European in 40 years to win the Open (Tony Jackin in 1970), although five non-Americans in seven years have taken the title. And Dustin Johnson's total collapse -- a triple bogey losing him a three-shot lead on ONE HOLE, followed by a double bogey to finish him off -- was pretty painful. Tiger? Oh, he finished tied with Mickelson for fourth, and someone flew some "Tiger: Are You My Daddy?" banners overhead, so there's that. (ESPN)
