If There Wasn't A Recruiting Scandal, It Wouldn't Be His Team
-
Gee, what a surprise: One of John Calipari's top recruits, Turkish center Enes Kanter, may have received over $100,000 in cash and benefits from a pro team in Turkey for which he played before coming to Kentucky. Kentucky says he didn't get cash and it was like getting a prep school scholarship, but they moved his family to Istanbul and rented them a house. There's more, including Kanter's odyssey through the basketball prep "school" process and his "adviser" who may or may not be an agent, too. Naturally, Calipari found him. (New York Times)
