Aah, We'll Get To It Later. Hey, Got A Few Million We Can Borrow?
-
In 2007, the state of California gave PG&E the okay to spend $5 million of ratepayer money to fix the San Bruno gas pipeline in 2009. You may be aware by now, from the rather large explosion and fire and all the deaths and burned-down houses, that the work was never done. Why? They won't say. All they've done is to ask for another $5 million in rate hikes for the same job that they never did with the first $5 million they got. They obviously bet that the thing wouldn't blow up and they'd just keep asking for more and more money. They bet very wrong. (Los Angeles Times)
