Since then have taken on multiple roles in Portland including MD/middays at KINK HD-2 in January 2018.
1. What got you into radio?
I've always had a love for music and the industry. I remember as a child constantly listening and calling into my favorite radio stations asking them to play my requests and wanting to talk to the DJs. It's crazy how life comes full circle.
2. What did you dream of becoming when you were a kid?
I always wanted to do something that helped people. As a kid, I thought that meant I was going to be a doctor, but I was never really that good at math or science...lol so I had to find another outlet. For me, music has always helped me get through whatever life throws my way.
3. What was the biggest adjustment in the move from the East Coast to Portland?
This is the most cliché answer ever, but the rain is intense! That and being away from my immediate family has been one of the hardest things to adjust to.
4. What's your favorite part about living and working in Portland?
There are so many awesome things about this city. Everyone is incredibly polite. You're an hour and a half away from Mt. Hood and if you go the same distance in the other direction you're at the coast. There's always something cool and fun to do in PDX. Plus I've been extremely blessed to work with some of the most talented and passionate people in this industry, so it makes things on the work front amazing.
5. What would probably surprise most people about Portland?
I think one thing that is super underrated here is the hip-hop scene. There are a lot of talented artists who are either unknown or unsigned that deserve spotlight and recognition. Portland has always been a big "music" city but the genre of popular music in PDX has definitely shifted.
6. “I do wish there were more _________ in Portland?” What could Portland use more of?
Sunny days...lol just kidding. On a serious note, I do wish there was more affordable housing. This place is expensive!
7. What's your favorite song on WE 102.9 right now?
This is like trying to pick a favorite child. Top 3 for me currently in no particular order...Doja Cat - Juicy; Future & Drake - Life Is Good; Chris Brown - Heat
8. If you weren't in radio, what do you think you'd be doing professionally?
Trying to imagine my life without radio is so hard, but I'd definitely have to be around people and doing something where I can tap into my creative side. Maybe event planning...A&R?
9. What do you like to do when you aren't working?
When I'm not working, I love spending time with my family. Also traveling with my beau and our pup Stanley (@StanThePomChi on instagram)
10. If you could be on any TV reality show or game show, which would you want to be on?
I seriously would love to be on Big Brother! CBS casting...if you're reading this...call me!
Bonus Questions
Who would be your dream "Follow" on social media?
Jennifer Lopez. She's been my idol since I was a kid.
Think back on being 18-year old Lauren. Can you recall a "Thank God no one caught that on video and posted it" moment?
I can think of plenty and I also plead the fifth.
