BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:
2012 - interned for WXKS (KISS 108)/Boston
2013-2015 - I was the Executive Sales Coordinator and Promotions & Public Service Director for Mountain Wireless Broadcasting in Augusta, ME
2015-present - wearing about 100 different hats at Hot Radio Maine
1. What got you into radio?
I knew I wanted to do SOMETHING music related with my life, so I went to college and got a degree in Music Administration. While I was there, I applied for an internship at KISS 108 in Boston; that was the station I grew up listening to and, honestly, it just sounded like it would be a lot of fun. It turned out it WAS a lot of fun and during that internship I decided that's what I just HAD to do with my career!
2. What did you dream of becoming when you were a kid?
A rockstar. I'm still dreaming!
3. Biggest thing that you've learned about yourself during the pandemic?
I should not be taking ANYTHING for granted; from people to doing anything in public to having toilet paper. There have been so many things I've missed during the pandemic that never in a million years would I have thought I would have to go without.
4. Professionally, what was the biggest adjustment to your work during the pandemic?
I would say the biggest adjustment was staying positive on air, even while we're going through a not so positive time. Some days more than others, it really took a lot to try to put a bright side on things & give people hope on air. I think our whole squad did a great job of doing this despite everything going on.
5. What would probably surprise most people about Portland and markets covered by Hot Radio Maine?
Maine is SUCH a hidden gem! Not only do we have so many incredible nature spots, from mountains to the ocean to the freakin' DESERT of Maine, but also the food here is completely unmatched. Local restaurants win national awards constantly. If you're a foodie, Maine has to be on your bucket list. Also, Stephen King has an incredibly creepy looking home here that, in itself, is worth coming to the state for.
6. What's your favorite song on the station right now?
Depends on my mood! Either Waves of Blue by Majid Jordan OR Best Friend by Doja Cat and Saweetie.
7. If you weren't in radio, what do you think you'd be doing professionally?
If I wasn't in radio I think I would still be doing something music related; perhaps at a record label or working directly with artists!
8. Did you pick up any new hobbies during the pandemic?
I wish I could say I was that productive, but I spent a lot of my time binge watching shows & on Tik Tok like most of us.
9. The Voice, American Idol or America's Got Talent?
Honestly, I don't keep up with any! But if I had to choose, I'd go with The Voice because I think, out of those three, the judges are more helpful and genuine. Also, Gwen Stefani is my GIRL, so I may be a bit biased.
10. If you could be on any TV reality show or game show, which would you want to be on?
THE DREAM. I love so many that it's hard to choose, but if I must; possibly Beat Shazam or Family Feud for a game show. Big Brother or The Circle for reality TV. Survivor is one of my absolute favorites, but I know I would stand no chance on that island.
Bonus Questions
If you had to eat one type of meal every day for a month, what would it be?
I am not picky by any means, but I do LOVE Mexican food!
Got a couple of bucket list travel destinations?
I've got so many. I feel like I haven't been anywhere! My top 3 are Tokyo, Sydney, and London.
