1. What was your first job in the business?
Arista Records 1991. Assistant to George Hess.
2. Are you spending more time on the road with artists on promotion tours now than you did 10 years ago?
Yes, Much more. It's the best way is to get out there.
3. What's the biggest way that your job of record promotion has changed over the last 10 years?
Technology has advanced so much that its easier to stay in contact, send music and monitor radio. It's exciting to think what the next 10 will bring.
4. Which Rhy-Crossover PD or MD have you been working with the longest?
I would say Eddie Mix at Power 96 in Miami. I was promoting him as a mixer 15 years ago to play Dance records.
5. What's the first job related thing you do in the morning?
Look at Mediabase.
6. When you look at a Mediabase report on one of your records, what is the first thing you look for?
Spins....who is up and who is down.
7. Who do you consider to be your mentor(s)?
George Hess, Lance Walden, Rob Stone, Joe Hecht, Barbara Seltzer
8. After a long day in the office with Gary, Sujit and 30 programmers in your ear, what do you do to relax?
I walk part of the way home.
9. What new artist(s) will radio still be playing in 5?
The ones that come out 4 1/2 years from now.
10. What's on the way from Universal Motown as 2007 winds down?
New music from Nelly, Ja Rule, Ashanti, Lil Wayne, Birdman, Swizz Beatz, to name a few.

No one, just ask Boogie D. The grass isn't always greener.
