Please outline your radio career so far: (station/date, station/date, etc.)

4 years in the NAVY in SEATTLE
Part-time in EVERY department at KUBE/SEATTLE
Started up a Rhythmic in ALASKA for Michael O'shea and NEW NORTHWEST
Started up a rhythmic in CITADEL in SPOKANE (KYWL)
Came to MEMPHIS to turn on WMPW (POWER 99)1) What do you remember most from your first shift on the air?
One of my best friends DAMON KNIGHT (currently MD at HOT in LA) sat in for that first show. He sat in to make sure I knew all the right buttons to hit....ha! We still talk and he still makes sure I'm doing it right.
2) What got you interested in Radio?
I was a DJ at the skating rink. My manager would always make me announce the songs on the mic like I was on the radio. SO EMBARASSING! But, it was wearing the KBXX lanyard that sealed it. Chicks loved it. I would even wear that damn thing to the skating rink just to feel cool. I was sprung.
3) What's been your biggest disappointment in Radio?
I don't think I've ever been disappointed, but challenged...yes. I am disappointed that my dad couldn't still be here when I moved closer to home.
4) What's the highlight of your radio career to date?
It's been building this radio station. It's amazing to put together a radio station with so many people who are just as passionate as you. It seems like so many individuals get caught up in the corporate side of the biz. It's nice to work with people who are able put that aside sometimes and focus on the employees.
.
5) What secret about KEKELUV will surprise even those that know you?
Well, I tell all on the radio and in the halls. That's my SECRET.
6) What are you looking to hear as you hit "play" on an aircheck for a gig?
Exactly, what I was taught...be real. Do you sound like you're having fun and are you talking to me, or at me.
7) Who do you consider to be your mentor(s)?
Wow! As you move along in your career your mentors change. I don't want to sound like a booty kissa so I won't. I do know that at anytime there are people I can call upon for advice. Those people are always there, always return my calls, and will always have my back. You know who you are and I appreciate you.
8) This summer is as good as any to take up a new hobby. If you have to take up a new one this weekend, what would it be?
Golf! I'm slippin there.
9) Just for fun, you get to put together an air staff of all, non-radio guys. What does your line-up look like?
CHRIS TUCKER (can't drive station vehicle though) and JESSICA SIMPSON in mornings, JOHNNY KNOXVILLE in mornings.
QUEEN LATIFAH in Middays
LUDACRIS in Afternoons.
JAY-Z and JADA PINKETT (sassy sista) nights.
GAME and 50 CENT on Saturday night beat down.10) If you were to leave Radio today and you could choose any other occupation, what would it be?
I'd open a Martini bar on the MIAMI beach. SHAQ is the bouncer and TOM CRUISE, JAMIE FOXX, and PAMELA ANDERSON as bartenders. DIDDY is the host.
