BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:
I started radio in Los Angeles on Power 106 doing overnights, moved through all the time slots to mornings, started national daily syndication in 2007.
1. What time is your alarm clock set for? Music or buzzer?
3:40 a.m....buzzer
2. You signed a new deal with Dial Global to handle syndication of Big Boy's Neighborhood? Was their ever a doubt that the syndication aspect of Big Boy's Neighborhood might not be rolling on?
(To clarify, Dial Global handles ad sales and distribution, but not the full syndication of the show)
Never any doubt. I knew we had to take ownership. The great product was always there, but we just needed the right presentation.
3. How old is your son now? How has his presence in your life affected how you live?
My son is now 3 and my daughter will be 2 this September. It's just a different grind. Its not about me anymore. Everything I do is for them. Work, health, all decisions are about my family.
4. What did you want to be when you were growing up?
A man.
5. As you're doing your show, does "how will this play in Modesto?" ever cross your mind?
No. Funny is universal. I'm in Modesto and Modesto is in me.
6. Doing a morning show doesn't leave a lot of time for outside activities. What do you do to relax in your very limited spare time?
My relaxation is definitely my wife and kids, I love spending my time with them, and cooking too.
7. I heard a story once that Da Brat got in a fist fight with her label rep on her way to an interview with you. Have you ever had anything close to that happen...in studio and/or on air?
I've never heard that story about Da Brat, is that true? Tattoo, from our show, wants to fight everybody.
8. Luscious Liz has been with the show for many years now. How would you define Liz' role on the show? Who is she datin' now?
She's my better half. She balances out the room and is sunshine. She has a great attitude so it brings a joy to the room on and off the air. She's dating "her job." ;)
9. When you were growing up in Culver City...who did you listen to on the radio?
Russ Parr, aka Bobby Jimmy, from the original KDAY/Los Angeles.
10. If we went to your house to check your TiVo...what would we find?
Triple D - Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, Locked Up Abroad, Big Brother and Yo Gabba Gabba
Bonus Questions
If Tiger Woods came on the show tomorrow for an interview, after the initial pleasantries, what do you think you'd ask first?
Was it worth it?
