BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:
Why yes I have worn briefs during my whole career... in Atlanta, San Francisco, Seattle and other places that appreciate it that you wear underwear. Thanks for asking.
1. What stands out the most from your first job in radio?
I got my first afternoon drive gig because the guy who was doing it was doing some sort of drug where he simply tuned out of his job. So in effect I owe my career to drugs. Oh yeah, we also went from worst to first in one book.
2. What has been the most defining moment of your radio career?
Being a part of the team at 99X in Atlanta in the '90s... Live105 in San Francisco was nice as well.
3. What excited you the most about programming X96?
Working with people who have fire in their eyes! That Corey O'brien has been known to burn people just by looking at them!
4. What part of your job do you like best? Least?
Plowing my driveway at 6AM. It's great once I get to X96.
5. What is the most challenging part of the job?
The long days - 8a to 8p.
6. What is most important to you when championing new music for the station?
Finding something that might actually attract listeners. You know... if they like it they may listen longer? Someone smart once told me that helps.
7. What makes X96 unique?
It's morning show, Radio from Hell. They get 20 shares. Its Pop Alt sound and the fact that it's been kicking butt for sooooo long with two former very smart programmers.
8. How are you using Social Media?
Today I posted that I had the best Ham and cheese sandwich ever. Oh you mean for X96? We spend most of our day media pointing listeners to our social media pages. This is just a start to where the real work needs to be done.
9. Fill in the blank: I can't make it through the day without _____?
Cheese.
10. What would surprise people most about you?
I did CHR/Rhythm almost as long as I've done Alt and that I'm an introvert.
