1) What led you to a career in radio?
A buddy of mine had a mom that worked at WALG. The PD thought I had a great voice so he threw me on the air at 15 years old. I was full time nights in 3 months.
Was there a defining moment, which made you realize "this is it"?
When I realized I didn't have to work for a living.
2) What makes your station or market unique? What is going between the songs? Imaging, contesting. How does this compare to other markets or stations you have worked at?
This is the most CHR station I have ever produced, and it's Country, I love it.
3) If you are wearing more hats this year than last, what area is suffering and how are you handling that?
I have the most talented staff and all the tools to win. Delegation and motivation is one of the most important things I do.
4) How do you feel terrestrial radio competes with the satellite radio and Internet these days?
No competition. They do what they do and we do good radio.
5) Where do you see the industry and yourself five years from now?
The industry will have to adapt to all of the other forms of media. Internet, Internet & more internet. Did I say internet?
6) What can we be doing with our station web sites to better our stations as a whole?
Internet, internet, internet. Soon you will be able to get internet in the car. Stream your station nooooooooooow.
7) What do you view as the most important issue facing radio today?
Internet, Internet, Internet and we have nowhere to develop new talent.
8) What's your take on current music? Is it as good as six months ago, better, or about the same? Elaborate.
I feel Country music is better than it ever has been. With Jason Aldean, Jack Ingram and people like George Strait still doing it. This format will stay alive for a long time. Maybe forever.
9) Please describe the best or worst promotion you've ever been part of?
A remote at a Mercedes dealership with quiche. OH yea the P-1's loved it. (sarcastic)
10) How do you position the station musically and why did you choose this direction?
104 in a row. Nooooooobody can play more music in Boise.

Garth Brooks because of how he treats his fans. You should treat listeners the same way.

Deryl Dodd "That's why I got to Memphis" and some stuff from Vern Gosdin
