The Country Addiction To Trucks...
July 6, 2012
Jimmy Carter in his homebase Nashville.
Somebody is $1.29 richer since my youngest daughter had to download Tim McGraw's new single, "Truck Yeah!"
If she sings the chorus one more time I told her I would hunt the itunes account down and erase it!
The song is going to be huge ... when the 15-year-old sings it every two minutes and downloads it ....huge. Oh yeah, this is a part-time Country fan from the Bieber, Gotye, Gomez, Swift And More Land. HUGE! But maybe obnoxious after a while.
This may be the next "Red Solo Cup"-like hit ... has that potential. Tim tested it at Brothers of the Sun and it had to be the single. And "they" is right!
Andy Griffith's death is still running through my mind. Watching Brad Paisley's tour show and seeing Brad sing with Andy every night, "Waitin' on a Woman." Go YouTube that video; it was the last acting job Andy ever had. That last shot of the video ... classic. Heavenly!
See where Natalie Maines' has a new project coming maybe in the Spring of 13? Go explain that career trajectory to someone. Unexplainable. Getting to be that big and just blowing up is so strange. Maybe they had a big pot of gold and didn't need to work?
See where Rihanna's accountants took 22 % of net and she got 6%? That always disturbs the FORCE when stories like that come out.
Money monkey business when Amazon started selling CDs this week for $1.99. Labels still get their floor price, but Amazon really trying to grease the wheels.
Ringo at the Mother Church of Country Music this weekend. What a great place to see anyone! The Ryman wins some venue awards and those awards are well-deserved.
Miranda Lambert had to cancel some dates due to illness ... It happens ... Jam in the Valley tonight (June 6th) and tomorrow (July 7th) in Scranton, PA. Nothing on her website about it ... a boo-boo ... Needs update all the digital platforms.
AT&T was useless at Lake Martin on the 4th ... Rural Alabama, forget about it. Verizon iPad worked fine ... iPhone works hard but cell service is less than spotty. Verizon rolls along.
Tried to watch Brad Paisley at the White House and the Internet is still a work-in-progress or not at all for some.
The country still has no "get everyone connected" policy. That is amazing and so backwards. We are not ready to throw out our CDs and TVs just yet.
There is so much to see on the Internet ... such a wild bit of technology when you start using iPad/iPhone to shoot severe weather videos and still shots. iPad is a great device ... great is an understatement. Life changing, more like it..
The new Nikon 1 from the Ashton Kutcher TV spots is living up to its hype...
"Truck Yeah" ... SCREAMMMMMMMM ... damn, that song gets in your head like "Red Solo Cup." Tim's, but I can hear Luke or Jason singing it, too... "Truck YEAHHHH!"
