Let This Be A Warning To All: Keep Your Pants On (And Zipper Shut)
-
The fire chief of leafy New York suburb Leonia, NJ has been fired for a conviction for lewdness that happened 16 years ago. The incident involved him exposing himself in his car while someone saw him from a passing school bus; he got a $500 fine and two year's probation back then. Question: Should that be enough to disqualify him from employment today? It WAS a freaky, perverted thing. But some might say that it should not follow you forever. But it WAS perverted, and, let's face it, you do that once, chances are that's not the first or last time you'll do that. But is getting fired for it 16 years later, after you've served your sentence, extra punishment befitting the crime? (Bergen Record)
