The End Wasn't Near After All
-
So that bridge demolition over Century Blvd., the main road leading into Los Angeles International Airport, went well and was completed ahead of schedule, and traffic all weekend wasn't too bad. This was after we were all told it was going to be a massive headache at best and a nightmare at worst for anyone needing to go to the airport on this busy weekend. We went through this with the various 405 Freeway closings, too -- we were given dire warnings, and the closures didn't cause too much inconvenience in the end. Are they scaring us away with overblown predictions, knowing that the problem won't be too bad, just to make sure we stay away? Is issuing proclamations of disaster necessary? (KCBS-TV/Los Angeles)
