At Wimbledon, crowds have to be pin-drop quiet. At the U.S. Open, they make noise, even though they're not supposed to -- it is, after all, New York. So, now, some tennis folks are wondering whether it should be okay for crowds to make noise at tennis matches. And, really, why do they need quiet? It's not golf, and athletes in other sports concentrate fine with the crowds going nuts. Why is tennis supposed to be quiet? (New York Times)
