So, suspicions confirmed: USC football player Josh Shaw's story about diving into a pool to save his nephew from drowning and injuring his ankles in the process was a lie, and when skepticism arises so quickly after the initial story, you know that the story was just too outlandish to be true. He's too young to come up with a more plausible explanation. He's been suspended, and you now have to wonder what he was really doing when he hurt himself, and why he felt the need to lie and make up such a whopper. (Los Angeles Times)
