Would She Have Done That To Her Own Grandmother? Depends. What's It Worth?

An elderly Oregon couple sold a parcel of land they owned to the neighbors of that parcel. They got $22,000. It was worth ten times that much. And it turns out that the neighbors who bought the property included a real estate agent who ostensibly knew what she was doing, and allegedly took advantage of the couple, who signed off on it but realized what had really happened only after the money, or lack of it, appeared in their bank account. The real estate agent and her husband insist this was all on the up and up, but the woman has been fired from the agency where she worked. Turns out the agent never exactly filed the paperwork as required, and you can speculate whether this was to hide anything. But let's face it, aging sucks and people will take advantage of the elderly at any opportunity. (The Oregonian)
