Quite A Legacy There. Fighting The Pointless Fight

Dead: Doris Landfather. Who? In the late '60s, she was briefly an alderman in St. Louis, and her claim to fame was her attempt to ban the rock musical “Hair†from opening in St. Louis. She succeeded in getting a watered-down ordinance passed, and "Hair" didn't open in St. Louis until 1972, well after it had played everywhere else. You wonder if someone like this would have been proud decades later, after the rest of society deemed the target of her wrath not only not obscene but tame, and the answer is, well, yes, she WAS a bit of a crusader against what she believed to be smut. Those people never accept that they got worked up over nothing. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
