Hard To Concentrate On Basketball After That

The Lakers have granted guard Wayne Ellington an indefinite leave of absence after his father was found shot to death in a car back in Germantown, PA, near Philadelphia. The question is how devastating that news would be to the average person, and how long you'd need before being able to resume work. I can't imagine how hard it would be; I had a hard enough time when my parents died, and I had the "luxury" of being able to see those coming at least a few weeks out. If you're hit with the news of your dad being murdered, I don't know how long it would take to recover. (Philadelphia Daily News)
