More Scenes From The Class Struggle in Beverly Hills
-
On the block: A 35,000 square foot mansion in Beverly Hills with 12 bedrooms, 23 bathrooms, two kitchens, a separate guest house, a 24-car garage, an "entertainment complex," and a vineyard with wine cellar. Price: $195 million. The real estate guy who built it just to sell it thinks the price is "really quite reasonable," which means he has a very different definition of reasonable than everyone else. It probably will sell for a lot less, but even then, who would spend nine figures on a house? Who needs that big of a house? When does "because I can" cease to be an adequate reason to do something?
