So It'll Cost The Leafs 20 Percent More Not To Win The Cup
-
Hey, Canadian sports fans! Remember the bad old days when the loonie was 80 cents to an American dollar, and how screwed the Canadian major league sports franchises were in having to pay a 20% premium for player contracts that they have to pay in American money? They're back. But this time, the teams were smart enough to hedge the currency, so the problem's not quite as acute. Hope the NBA and NFL, looking to expand someday to London and other European cities, are taking note; the Euro's taken a hit lately, too. (Toronto Star)
