We've been over this before: Law schools are producing too many lawyers and there aren't enough law jobs to go around. Why is this persisting? This writer's theory is that the problem stems from the ready availability of student loans: the government will put up the money for you to get a law degree whether lawyers are needed or not. Paying it back is YOUR problem. But isn't it also the responsibility of the students to do the homework and find out that their prospects for employment are dim? (New York Times)
