Bet They Charge A Processing Fee To Take The Coupons, Too
-
Ticketmaster got sued over its random fees that were unrelated to anything other than the company wanting to make more money, and there was a class action settlement. As in most class actions, the money's mostly going to lawyers. But you and me of the ticket-buying public WILL get something: $2.25 coupons, 17 of them, usable only one per ticket. That's it. And most people won't use them, because, as this editorial from the San Diego paper notes, you have to buy tickets to use the coupon, so the coupon is actually a marketing ploy to sell $50 or $100 tickets with a minimal discount. We get ripped off because we let it happen. (San Diego Union-Tribune)
