What They Don't Know Will Hurt Them
-
The latest in the scandal over the Olympus gastrointestinal scopes that harbored bacteria that killed patients is that emails show company officials in Japan instructing the American division heads to not tell anyone that scopes in Europe were infecting patients there. So 35 people subsequently died, because corporate executives decided that the best course of action was to cover up a problem of which they were fully aware. Forget about civil cases; if this is true and the executives' coverup led to deaths, there HAVE to be criminal charges. (Los Angeles Times)
