How Did Bozo Become Public Enemy Number One?

Clowns. It's still happening. A Facebook photo showing clowns near a high school led to tickets issued to the clowns, who were pranking a friend; in the same area, people called in a panicked clown sighting that turned out to be just a guy riding a bike wearing a reflective vest with a flashing light. In Ohio, people have been reporting clowns breaking into cars and carrying knives, but the cops say they haven't seen any of that, yet the cops also suggest that if you dress in a clown costume, you could get hit with trespassing, inducing panic, menacing, and disorderly conduct charges. In Louisiana, clowns in a grocery store set off some panic, and one witness says she'd shoot them if they ever came to her house. There were clowns allegedly tapping on windows in Virginia, and clowns in cars (clown cars!), and clowns just walking around in Florida, while in Pennsylvania, a clown was standing in someone's yard. You realize that people are trolling you, right? I mean, this isn't a Netflix horror series. There is no Grand Clown Conspiracy. The moment someone realized that people get unnerved in the presence of clowns, dudes who troll people online for lulz were going to take the opportunity to do this, weren't they? I'm as creeped out by clowns as anyone else, but it's getting silly.
