1. What was your favorite station to listen to when you were a kid?
I grew up in the Chicagoland area and switched between B96 and Q101.
2. What got you interested in the radio business?
Growing up listening to shows like Eddie and Jobo, Mancow. I used to record the radio while I was gone at school, come home and listen back just to hear the what the jocks had to say.
3. You've worked in Illinois, Iowa, Pennsylvania, NC and now VA Where is your favorite place to live.
That is SO hard because they are all so different and I have managed to build lasting friendships in each spot. If I had to choose nostalgia would take me to Chicago.
4. Tell us how you ended up at the Corner.
I had about a year of Triple A experience working in the Outer Banks, NC. I honestly, started looking for a job that offered better medical care. I had a great conversation with Kendall Stewart and knew this was a place that was going to provide me with growth in my career.
5. How would you describe the musical approach on the station?
Diverse and inclusive
6. Where do you find new music?
There is a vibrant music scene here in Charlottesville, but mostly through my conversations with label reps. I think that is the most fun way for me to discover music honestly. I do use apple music which will surprise me sometimes too.
7. What new acts are you most excited about?
Coin, Maneskin, Wet Leg, CAAMP, and I could really go on.
8. Who was your favorite artist to interview so far and why?
Toss Up between Mat Kearney and Alison Ponthier. Both are super personable, open, fun, and incredibly talented.
9. If you were to leave the radio business today and you could choose any other occupation, what would it be?
A life coach, or as I read on Linked In recently, a Chief Purpose Officer. Someone who helps others discover the deeper meaning in their work and lives. I am fascinated by humans and the way we think.
